Science lessons are student driven, placing students in the role of explorers and the teacher as a guide.
The overarching goal of our Science program is to encourage students to ask questions about the world around them, while providing developmentally appropriate tools and information to help answer those questions. The focus at every level is to make learning hands-on and engaging, encouraging students to think and question everything.
The science classroom is a living space filled with a variety of projects in process, living things, books, tools and science “toys” for students to explore; the campus is an extension of this classroom. After completing their explorations, students are allowed to investigate what they are most interested in outside of guided Science lessons. Students develop enthusiasm for science, sound scientific literacy and responsibility for the environment to take forward with them into the future.
