Into the Woods

Fifth Grade went on an orienteering adventure in French Creek State Park last week. As they navigated their way to different orienteering markers, they encountered beauty in nature — a bat, butterflies, and lots of creek! The goal of this experience was to spend time outdoors, build community, have fun together, and learn how we fit into our world.

Meg Introduces Herself

My name is Meg Shea, and I’m the new Science teacher. Before joining the staff at PMFS, I taught biology at the high school level, worked in a cooperative preschool and community gardens, and have been parenting three wonderful children who are also joining the PMFS family.

I grew up in the greater Philadelphia area, and am returning after relocating for college and many subsequent life and teaching adventures around the country. I am excited to share my passion for science with all students, and hope to develop an indoor grow program at PMFS in the near future. I am grateful and excited to be joining an amazing staff and school community.

Quick Quiz

1. What is the most cited reason people give for being interested in a school?

Answer: Word of mouth

2. How can you (yes, YOU) get the word out?

Answer: You can…

  • Take a yard sign! (ask Joyce to get your very own)
  • Post an open house flyer! (Click here to print or ask Joyce for hard copies)
  • Help us at events! A couple of hours go a long way at open houses, festivals, and school fairs.

Just contact Joyce at joycec@pmfs1780.org or x226 and she’ll get you all set up. New folks encouraged, and we won’t make helping scary AT ALL.
