Autumn Day in Kindergarten
One perk of Kindergarten going temporarily virtual was that students had a costume fashion show as part of their Autumn Day celebration (pictured from top to bottom: Friendly Lantern Fly, Rainbow Laughing Dinosaur, Black Panther, Hungry Leopard). The day of fun continued with a Halloween scavenger hunt around their houses, time to write a Halloween story, and a virtual trip to a farm to see horses, pigs, chickens, and more. You can watch the video of Tamika and Sarah at the farm here — it’s sure to be a hit with any littles in your family. (Video editing credit to Tamika’s talented son Jaylin!)
Life on Campus
With Science teacher Meg embedded in First and Second Grade, students have been studying the common characteristics of all life, from unicellular organisms to complex vertebrates. The class began the unit by taking a brief inventory of everything living on our campus and have continued to notice more and more about that life each time we are outdoors. Students were pretty excited to find this mantis as part of their survey!
Campus Stewardship Initiative
Every Saturday (at least until the weather turns), we’re inviting families to help with some outside jobs, like weeding and picking up sticks (or refreshing our Bug Hotel!). Come whenever you want on a Saturday or organize to meet other families here. Please remember to socially distance, and stay as long or as little as you like. Click here for details and to sign up. Thanks for helping keep our campus beautiful!
