FIELD DAY IS BACK, FIELD DAY IS BACK!
We are so excited to get back together and celebrate Friends, Fitness and Fun! Field Day will be held during the school day on Friday, May 13 after lunch (about 12:45pm). Students in Kindergarten thru Sixth Grade will be placed on mixed grade teams and compete against one another in fun and friendly events. Some of the events include potato sack racing, egg on spoon relay, tricycle race and more. Each student will be given a Field Day shirt to be worn on event day, and please be sure that students are dressed comfortably and have on sneakers. The campus is buzzing with excitement about having our long standing Field Day tradition back!

Alex Hansen – the New Executive Director of The Friends Collaborative
Alex Hansen, PMFS class of ‘99, took on the role of Executive Director of The Friends Collaborative this past Fall. Alex aligns herself with the mission of the Collaborative and the Quaker values she learned while a student at Plymouth. “Quaker education didn’t teach me what to think, it taught me how to think,” she said. She fondly remembers her teachers, the Strawberry Festival, class performances, and of course, strawberry shortcake.
The Friends Collaborative (TFC) is a group of 22 Pennsylvania Quaker schools working together to collectively make a Friends education affordable for more families, raising and awarding 100% of The Collaborative’s donations as need-based scholarships. Operationally, TFC facilitates a PA education tax credit program (EITC) where donors receive 90% of their contribution back as a dollar-for-dollar reduction of their state taxes owed. This means that for every donation, a net out-of-pocket gift of $1 actually funds $10 in scholarship support. Over the past five years, the Collaborative has raised approximately $15.5 million dollars, distributing aid to over 1,700 students across 22 Pennsylvania Quaker schools. This year, TFC expects to add an additional $10 million dollars in scholarship funding to that impressive total.
You can participate in this program and leverage your Pennsylvania state taxes to help more students attend PMFS and other Quaker schools. For more information, please contact Ralph Henninger and Linda Metzler in the PMFS Development office at 610.828.2288 or email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
