Kindergarten Practices Acts of Peace

Kindergarten has been reading and learning about Martin Luther King Jr. and his contributions to our society. As a black American, Dr. King was eager for his own people to be treated with fairness and kindness. To assist them he followed the example of Gandhi, exhorting his black American friends to peacefully demonstrate equal rights. In our kindergarten class, students are seeking ways to solve little problems peacefully and to show fairness and kindness to their school friends and family.

Please help us to encourage these traits by noticing your child’s acts of peace in the home and community.

“World in a Book” Book Club

On Wednesday, the “World In A Book” Book Club artists created a group painting in the style of twentieth century artist, Jackson Pollock (1912-1956). Using acrylic paints and long brushes, they “splattered” different colors onto a rainforest backdrop, on which they can add rainforest animals of their choice. This was the last episode in a journey around the world with books and accompanying art activities as extensions.

PMFS Updated Covid Protocols

PMFS recognizes the inconvenience and disruption that quarantine presents for families and the school. We share your desire to keep on-campus learning going. Recent changes to recommendations for schools from the CDC, CHOP and the Montgomery County Office of Public Health informed our decision-making about adjustments to the PMFS COVID Protocols. Please see the attached chart which clearly outlines protocols for unvaccinated and vaccinated individuals, as well as those who have recovered from COVID in the past 90 days. Please see Brenda’s email for more information.
