Rainforest Animals as Multifaceted Research Project
Our 5th graders have been working hard to educate themselves and the Five-Six Pod about rainforest animals. If you were to peek into the classroom recently you might see students constructing Google Slide presentations about their chosen animal, incorporating the advice from our very own project and research specialist Varley, writing and editing a draft of their research paper after a student-teacher conference, or constructing their 3D animal model. After discussing how to give and accept feedback with teachers Leann and Rachel, 5th graders gave presentations on animals such as ring tailed lemurs, okapi, sloths, and pygmy marmosets.
Bringing Learning Home for the Holidays
The 1st and 2nd Grade Pod have spent the last week learning different ways to stay active while we are on Winter Break. Here they are creating their very own hopscotch courses! They have also been practicing their jump roping and learning about increasing their heart rate through various exercises.
