Tuition Rates 2017-18
PMFS has a commitment to making its program accessible to a diverse community, knowing that diversity of all kinds benefits us all. Financial aid awards are made on the basis of financial need. In the 2017-18 school year, 56 % of our students received financial aid, in grants ranging from $2,000 to nearly full tuition, awarding more than $700,000 in aid. The average tuition amount for 2016-17 for students in Kindergarten–Sixth Grade was $13,890; a limited number of full and exceptional aid awards reduced tuition even lower.
PMFS tuition rates are set annually by the School Committee, the governing board of the school. Holding tuition increases to a minimum is a matter of priority for the School Committee, balanced with its responsibility for the long-term health of the school. In the past 5 years annual tuition increases have been around 5%.

Tuition may be paid in one, two, or ten payments. First payments are due July 1, and families will receive a tuition bill in June reflecting the amount due.

Financing a PMFS Education
PMFS works closely with families in an attempt to ensure finances are not a barrier to attending our program. We welcome open conversations in effort to make enrollment accessible. We offer need-based financial aid to help families afford tuition. Financial aid applications are due in February for the following school year; recipients must re-apply annually.

PMFS uses School and Student Services (SSS), a service of the National Association of Independent Schools, to help determine financial aid awards. SSS calculates an estimate of the amount a family can contribute based on the financial information provided. This estimate, along with information the family shares with us regarding special circumstances, enables us to make our award decisions.
Families are required to re-apply each year. Tuition assistance is granted without consideration to gender, race, color, sexual orientation or national origin. Families should request full instructions for applying for financial aid during their admission interview.
Financial Aid Application Deadlines
- January 5, 2018: Submit application via SSS and upload copies of IRS form 1040 for 2016 Tax Year
- April 17, 2018: Submit copies of IRS form 1040 for 2017 Tax Year
- Financial aid applications received after January 5 will be considered only if funds are available
