Admission is on a rolling basis, provided space is available, with preference given to siblings of current students and alumni children, should all other factors be equal.

Applying to PMFS

  1. Complete an Inquiry Form

    Click here to complete an inquiry form to receive a packet of information mailed to you directly as well as a phone call from our Director of Admissions Lael Rasch.

  2. Come for a Personal Tour and Participate in a Parent Interview

    Receive a one-on-one tour of the school with observation time of classes in session, followed by an opportunity to ask and answer questions about our program and your child’s educational goals.

  3. Attend an Interactive Open House and Parent Information Evening

    Come to PMFS for faculty presentations, a Q & A with Head of School and current faculty and parents, and a tour of the school with current parents. In the past for the faculty presentations portion, Fifth Grade Teacher Leann and Early Childhood Teacher Courtney presented on how they weave the social-emotional component into different facets of the curriculum and organically-arising opportunities throughout the day. For the tour of the school, we have visited various teachers and gone “back to school” for an experiential lesson on Writing in Third Grade with Audrey, Circus and Circus Math in Fourth Grade with Will, and Math in Second Grade with Susan.

  4. Submit a Completed Application

    Click here to download the Admissions Application; it is also included in the initial packet of information sent upon submitting an online inquiry. Once completed””which can be done digitally or by hand””and signed, please mail the application along with the non-refundable $50 application fee.

  5. Send in Teacher Recommendations

    Provide your child’s current teacher with recommendation forms to complete and mail directly to PMFS. Please download a copy of the appropriate ADVIS Confidential Teacher Recommendation:
    Early Childhood & Kindergarten
    Grades First – Sixth

  6. Forward Student Records

    Copies of all student records are required for children applying to Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. PMFS will provide a release form.

  7. Provide Evaluation Results

    If your child has had a speech-language, occupational or physical therapy, or psychological or psychoeducational evaluation performed, or has taken the WISC-IV or WPPSHI-III, please forward a copy of any evaluation or testing results to the Admissions Office.

  8. Student Visit to the Classroom

    A visit offers the opportunity for the student and teachers to get to know one another.

    Early Childhood and Kindergarten visits occur in the appropriate classroom 8:15 – 11:45 am during a day school is in session or for a Saturday morning visit with other Early Childhood Program applicants. First Grade applicants visit in the Kindergarten classroom for the full school day. Applicants for Second through Sixth Grade visit in the current grade classroom for one to two consecutive school days, full day; this includes the student having an opportunity to meet the teacher of the grade to which the student is applying.

Notification and Enrollment

The Admissions Committee will use all provided information above in making their decision. Families will be notified as soon as possible once an Admissions decision has been made. When a student is accepted, families receive a letter of acceptance and their enrollment contract.

Contracts are sent to newly admitted families in February and must be returned by March 1 to enroll. PMFS continues to accept applications past March 1 providing space is available.

Orientation

An orientation meeting will be held for new parents at the end of May.
