At Plymouth Meeting Friends School, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies are core subjects around which a rich interdisciplinary and multicultural curriculum is built.
Plymouth teachers work together to integrate different aspects of the curriculum into classroom themes. Visual and performing arts instruction -- including painting, drawing, sculpture, drama, and music education - complements literature, history, geography, mathematics, and other academic subjects. The physical education curriculum incorporates physical development goals in play, games, and sports activities that are fun and age-appropriate.
Children learn by doing. At PMFS, games and experiments, journals and creative projects, and a wide variety of educational activities keep learning innovative, interesting, and fun. The woods, playground, and fields of our nine-acre campus serve as a living laboratory for exploration and creative discovery in all aspects of the curriculum.
